Default Heater hose instead of Tygon?

While picking up my heater core someone bought 1/2 heater hose (the blcak stuff in your car) at $2.50 for 5 feet. Tygon is more expensive than that a foot.

Anyone use this instead of the pricey stuff? It would sure save money & it's designed for high pressure, heat & radiators.

Comments?

It's cheaper , but very stiff and kinks in tight bends. I think a PC case is a bit too confining to get wide radius, kink free bends.

My 2 cents.

Hi,

True enough. There's heater hose custom made to fit around vehicles. If one were to get the ones with gentle turns & cut them to length they would be smooth and not a problem I think.

I was thinking I'd use that when it comes to sharp bends.

Maybe there would be a few places for Tygon or Norprene which is as good but is tan & opaque but cheaper.
