Need help with cascade block

trying to build my own water cooling system

got these parts now:

Radiator: 24*12cm
Fans: 2pcs 12cm fans 74cfm,
Hose: 2 meters of ½inch special hose (aint gonna break)
Pump: Havent decided yet. Eheim 1048 or 1050

Well here to the question..

Can someone tell me the lenght*width*hight for a cascade copper block? Gonna buy some copper for the cpu and north bridge tomorrow.

Just this tiny plate i need help with

Really need those meassurements asap. Gonna buy copper tomorrow.

Would this work? 85*50*4mm (metric) ?

Btw. Is it someone here who makes the White Water blocks?
Cathars block´s looks pretty the same as the ww.

Please HELP A NOOB

Well, I don't recommend trying to replicate the Cascade, it can be done though. Cathar hired some CNC Millers (is that the correct term?) to do it, like he did with this LRWW (white water.) Now, I recommend making your own designs for your block. About the LRWW. Cathar sold the design to Dtek, thats about all we know, the buisness agreements have not been discussed.

just wanna know how you guys who´s better than me in this thinks the measurement should be.

i´ve got some ideas =D.
It will be cheap and easy to make as a cascade but i will be something else

btw. which of those pumps whould i take?

Your dimensions are fine. (85 by 50 by 4). You can trim that after the design is complete.

the width and length are fine, but try getting thicker copper, more along the lines of 12 mm
this might be just me but that way you have more stuff to work with and it will help flow with deeper cuts. this might only work for a rotor block tho...

ok,

All of this is a school project.
talked with my sponsors a couple of hours ago.
I will get all the copper i need for free =).
So i skipped the cascade design and did one by my self.

The cpu design is nearly finished unfortunaly it´s a bit heavy,
around 600g

Can´t use that design for the gpu.
too heavy =(.

Does someone have some ideas?
can´t be bigger that wider that 40*40mm

Build a supportsystem for the grafics card... Then you can have a heavy-load block on the GPU

got the copper today.

But it´s not pure copper.
It´s some alloy with oddher metal to make it harder.

Do u think it would work?

im gonna try to heat it up and se how fast the oddher side gets warm and compare it to pure copper...

It's alloyed with zinc, so it's brass. No it won't be anywhere near as good as copper

yup, sounds like u got yourself some 'yellow copper' as they call it here. normally used to make doorknobs and stuff like that.

is there any way to tell that you have brass instead of copper? apart from the fact that copper is more redish and brass is more golden?

It's usualy enough! If you've seen them both 'side by side' before you'll know the difference. Brass is harder than copper as well...
