Default maze4 or spir@l?

well right now in my possession I have a maze4 block, and a spir@l block. which one perfoms better? i have the maze4 in my system and right now, 2400+-M at 2.4 ghz, I have 32 idle, 35 load, with an ambient of ~25C. this is with a chevette heatercore, I have a dual bonneville that just needs to be barbed and then will be put in. but if the spir@l can perform better than the Maze4 then I will switch out.

I hate to hijack the thread, but I would like to add the TC-4 in to the equation, which would be the better block out of the aforementioned blocks and the TC-4?

I think the TC-4 is the lower model block of any of those...probabily equivalent to a maze2. the reason I ask about spri@l vs maze4 is ive seen comparisons with the maze3 and spir@l and theyve been equal, and ive seen maze3 vs maze4 and the maze3 has actually been a few degs lower.

since the TC-4 and the spri@l are the same price on Dtek's site, if between those two, id go for the spir@l

I think I get about 1.25 as it is, if I pump it up to 2.25 looks like I can drop a few more degrees...if I ever get some extra cash a Mag 3 is comin my way

that's pretty darn good performance out of your Maze 4 setup. w/ a chevette heater core, hydor L20 and the Maze 4, you don't go over 35 C. that's great IMO, that's the kind of performance i was looking for. that set up can go for ~$100. what are you measuring your temps w/? i'm going to try to get my 2600-M to 2.7 on water.

if you had an eheim 1250, would that be better with spiral or maze4?

assuming you also had a GPU cooler in the loop and no radiator, evaporative cooling where the water is just dripping out of a pipe, very little backpressure there.

is an eheim 1250 overkill for this setup all the way around? could you get use out of the maze 4 with a smaller pump even?

or is more flow always better?
