I have heavily used this site and forum, along with xtremesystems.org, to gather lots of information over the last 2 weeks. I need a little help to make sure I purchase the right equipment the first time.
I plan on using… CPU: Swift MCW462-UHT 226w GPU: Swift MCW50-T 80w (would like to mod to 172w) PSU: Meanwell S-320-12 (or S-320-24? more on that below) RAD: BIX2 PUM: Hydor L30 some sort of air trap/reservoir -Is the BIX2 meant to have only have 2 fans mounted front side, or 4 fans (2 front, 2 back)? -Will the BIX2 be enough cooling (with sufficient cfm fans) to properly cool this system? -I read somewhere that 70cfm fans for the rad is minimum (not sure if it was meant as overall or per fan in a push/pull config). Can you get away with less (say 50-60) if you had good control over ambient air? Or is 70 needed to get the water back to ambient temps in a multi pass parallel rad? -Is parallel a better loop for this, even if you ran a series with an air pocket in between the cpu and gpu? -In the future, if I wanted to WC the NB and a HDD or 2 for the fun of it (not worried about performance gains), would this setup be ok if i threw another L30 pump into the loop? -Is there an easy way to run both the 12v and 24v pelts at full voltage? Would running the 12v be ok on the PC's PSU as long as there is enough amps during peak usage for all components on the 12v rail? Last edited by tapo210; 03-29-2004 at 10:17 PM. |
