been thinking of starting to play paintball and looked around for some intresting 200-375$ paintball gun's. Right now the most intresting options are the Tippmann A5, JT Protium, Pirahna 04 STR, Spyder Imagine 04 which I have found at a swedish paintball webstore. My idea is getting a fairly good gun and get a good 12-16" barrel that helps getting the ball to fly straighter and longer. So it would be great to hear from anyone who knows of online paintball shops that ships all over the world, tips on barrels & stuff and most important of all to share your thoughts on the guns I listed, pro&cons.

Hows the paintball scene in sweden? I know airsoft is big in europe, but I havent heard much from paintball. You need to make sure you have people to play with before you get a gun
![]() Anyways, I'd get the A-5. Its very reliable so you wont have to be constantly ordering replacement parts for it. It is also capable of shooting very fast with an e-bolt/e-trigger/Response Trigger without needing a hopper upgrade as well. If you are going to get a barrel for it, it mostly depends on where/how you play. If you like to play paintball in big woods fields, the best barrel is the Tippmann Flatline. It is fairly expensive, but I own a flatline for the 98c and it is a fantastic upgrade. If you dial it in just right, it will shoot with a perfectly flat trajectory and very accurately. A regular 14"+ barrel wont make the ball shoot farther, but straighter. A flatline will make the ball shoot longer and straighter. If you are playing speedball it is best to get a shorter barrel for compactness. Good luck!

well the first paintball park opened around 1991 and some major stores around 1992 & 1995 I believe. There are about 45 paintball parks spread around our country but most people play with their friends in the woods since it's legal to play anywhere as long as you have the land owners permission and even if you don't you can just drive out to any fairly uninhabited wood and play with your friends. I played the game "Gotcha" on xbox where there was one swedish team represented and I believe we have a bunch of fairly good teams. Though I should mention there lives 9million people in sweden only so... thanks for the quick respones on my questions.

Chiming in w/ killernoodle, Tippmann is a very reliable company known for making markers that are both sturdy and good performers (were when i was playing a few years back, anyway).
The correct barrel length is dependent, as mentioned above, on your play style/setting. But, also remember to watch the bore diameter. There are all sorts of sizes to paintballs between the various brands (they're all supposed to be .68 caliber if I remember correctly, but you wouldn't know it comparing them), and matching a small dia paint brand to a large bore barrel, or vise versa, will leave you a very unhappy camper. These guys have a rather large database of players' comments on various products: http://www.pbreview.com/ Have fun, and keep that mask down ![]() |
