Think there will be a SP5? Remeber when they was working on the last sp to winnt that they cancelled.

Doubtful, Microsoft doesn't see W2000 as something to worry about with WXP Pro and W Server 2003 to take its place...

Why don't you just ignore the whole Windows thing and go with Linux. The only thing I need windows for anymore is the single game I play.

When does the Microsoft support expire?

They implemented a life cycle process (which is great if you work in IT), and they have three categories (last I checked):
-Supported (sp issued)
-Maintained (patches issued)
-end-of-life (you're on your own!)

Support for Windows 2000 ends in 2007, XP Pro ends in 2008.

That odd, since win2000 came back in -99 and xp in -01 if im not mistaken. longer support then for win2000

W2K Service packs will come for a while to come. W2K is just being implemented in many places (with official NT4 support ending on the day of the WinXP release.) Besides since Windows XP sucks, and Server 2003 is still too new to use, W2K is still the best server OS they make.

Umm maybe you didnt see the official release date, but W2K was released in the spring of 2000.
