That looks like a much better pump. The MCP300 I believe may have lacked in reliability/durability.
But I'm not convinced that the did the electrical work required to prevents spikes and power reversals from hitting the PSU, like we did for the Johnson pump. Buyer beware! Also, with a dead head (TDH?) of 2.2 meters, it's definitely comparable to an Eheim 1250's 2.0 meters, but what's the flow rate? |

I like all of this stuff. No mention of a new radiator though (still going with the BI micro in their kits?) I need to bug Bill for a full kit to play with I guess

Good looking pump. If the price is right and my block benifits, I would like to test one out.
BigBen2k, I think its perfectly understandable and acceptable to be skeptical. Ignorance of a product that is not for sale and openly analyzed is understandable. Foolishness is when your are faced with facts and ignore the truth. I don't think that word applies. Good question: Are these custom made or repackaged and resold?

As i only have a hotmail e-mail a/c i can't register for ocau and hence view the posts there.
Could someone please post the performance of this pump here. As it only uses 7 watts and has a max head of 2.2Meters which seems very good. Thats half the wattage of my maxijet with an extra .7 meters head . It also seems nice and compact which is another bonus for me. |

Bill did you generate that P-Q curve yourself? If so, what is the method you use to do so? I should give that a go with the pumps I have around the casa.

no, that is from the mfgrs data
I have verified it at 2 flow rates by summing the flow resistances of the system components to predict the flow rate and it seems accurate (±5% ?) - but really accurate values are needed for each item next time I have it on I'll measure the deadhead pressure (the easy part) what you need is to generate a head loss curve for your flow meter, then put that as directly as possible on the pump discharge after your throttling valve - set horizontally now read the pressure across the pump inlet and outlet and correct for your meter hmm, I think you'll need the pressure drop across the valve also |

I only wish they would offer a chipset tec block. That would be neat.
Bill. how does it compare, noise wise, to the eheim 1250? That is the only pump I have heard, or not heard ever since I mounted it suspended from rubber bicycle tube. BrianW

in a couple of weeks or so (??), ck new product announcements Eheim is better for no noise, but lower pressure/flow capability |

Nice, that was the only thing holding me back from running all three blocks tec. Thanks, I will wait.

Better is way too broad. You need to know what you need or require to know what is better for you.

Nice to have you drop in Bill.
Some nice looking blocks there. The lower to the base cap for higher velocity in the blocks is real nice along with the large barbs to allow the least head loss. Is the base's cooling surface the same diamond pattern as that used in the 5000? And are you free to post further charts and figures on the performance curve & C/W? Again, great to see you stop in! |

same baseplate, changed top
- do you not recall the question you asked back in that old thread ? the 3 relevant graphs are on the Swistech site under MCW5002 but the only things I will post are new product graphs once they have been announced LOTS to come in the weeks ahead |

Any hope for an AMD tec variant?
