Innovatek Rev 3 Block Help/Info

Hi, I've never posted here, and I'm not sure if this is the proper place for this, if not, just move me/it.

In the Innovatek Rev 3 block review, when you (pH) claimed that the block had been moddified to fit 1/2" barbs, did that mean that the 1/4" threads were bored out to 1/2"? If I was looking at that Innovatek block and had a similar setup to your test setup, would I be looking at similar results if I was to use 1/4" threaded to 1/2" (or possibly 3/8") barbs? If I need to bore the threads out, what sort of cost am I looking at?

just screw in 1/4 NPT male with Goop or lots of tape
use plastic barbs
if you have a brass/al connection it will fail eventually, but good for several years with an additive (DIY stuff)
