Default Free Plextor Premium!!

I am sure everybody is familiar with the greatest CD Burner in existence

Anyways as an incentive to get people folding for procooling: I am offering a free Plextor Premium (OEM) 52x32x52 w/8 megs of cache and a 12" rounded ATA cable to whomever has the most machines (read: processes, for you dualie and HT'ed people out there) added starting today 10/13 and ending on 11/5 This means that if you are already folding, you need to add more machines to win, as each of your current processes counts as 1/2. (As not to discourage new folders from coming onboard and getting scared when they see that Chew_Toy has 16 processes already). So get to folding!

Ohhh btw, you pay for shipping

Good luck!

It would appear that the Plextor is probably going to go to Arcturius. Doesn't anybody have some extra machines they can set to fold for a free Plextor Premium? Maybe I should post a link to here on hardfolding.com

Points don't matter, just the number of clients

You can but wont see any points per week increase like you do with HT cpus. I have even done it on my P3, you just need to setup a second client in a different directory and durring setup of the client give it a different machine ID same as with a HT cpu (if you dont you could do the exact same protien twice and only get credit for it once)

Ok, then does that show up as multiple clients running? If so, I can just reinstall all my clients w/ 8 clients on each machine and get 8 new clients added...no? I thought the software has to recognize each CPU for the seperate machine ID to work...

Just to let everybody know, I decided to extend the date to November 5th (almost 2 more weeks) as this just got posted on the front page, which in turn should hopefully bring new folders in.

Each reinstallation of the client 'looks' like a new CPU, as far as f@h is concerned. That should be discouraged, though, since it's basically cheating (in this instance; plus you'll actually slow down your overall production). Plus, you need to submit a WU with the new CPU ID for it to be counted in your stats--might not be feasible to run 4x clients on an Athlon.
And no, I'm not discouraging it simply b/c I'm lined up to win the Plextor.

Now come on, everybody, put up more machines. Make me get out the K6-2+ 500 to stay competetive.

I've already hit my max, with my one box that I can set up. The only other box I have here is a dedicated webserver, and I want to keep the load on it low. If I was at home, I could probably get 4 boxes going, but the best would be an Athlon 800, with the worst being an Cyrix 266.

Well, I wouldn't run multiple clients anyways even for the Plextor Folding and cheating just doesn't sound right

I'm maxed out and will lose some of my clients in the next couple of weeks due to a project

I only have 1 puter to use. So I'm not going to win the burner. Oh well, I"ll leave this one up and let somebody else enjoy the burner (I already have a Lite-On anyways).

I havnt added any machines since you started this little contest. I am running the same 10 that I was running when it began, I have one that was folding off a CD and whenever a lil blip in power came it would reboot and start up as a new machine. And a week ago I had some problems that caused me to reformat 3 machines and they showed up as 4 new ones and I would guess in another day or two I should be back at the 15 clients running. (10 total with 5 of those running 2 with HT.)

So it would appear that mjgent has won with an astounding 24 processes. Thanks to all for trying their hardest to get the most machines folding for 39339 We're already top 300 and working our way up so don't quit.

as per mjgent:

Thanks Nightfall I appreciate it but I'm in it for the science. If your okay with it, I would like for you to put it out there again for another round in a few weeks and see if we can get some more WUs.
That's very admirable mj

So lets throw another 3 weeks on this, giving a new date of 11/26. Link to this thread in other forums, IRC, everywhere you go so we can break into the top 200
