Default Interesting range of pumps!

see

http://www.coleparmer.com/catalog/vc...age.asp?p=1466

e.g.

http://www.coleparmer.com/catalog/pr...=&lstBool=true

looks similar to Eheim 1250, but much smaller

Maybe you guys already know about these- especially pHaestus since he and I are in "the same line of work"

Prices are in UK £, but since its a US company no doubt they will be cheaper on the "other side of the pond"

Looks like the old blueline pump. Should work just fine.

Same moulds as mcp600/aquaextreme 50 12vdc

too expensive, though.

Almost twice as expensive as a MCP650, less flow, less pressure, not really worth it.

I dont know about the specs or model number but Ive seen that picture before. Thread here fairly recently was talking about the blueline pumps. Bill hinted on how bluelines very smallest DC pump is the MCP600. That one looks like the second smallest model. So Id ASSume its better performance than the mcp600. Less than a 20watt draw. mcp600 > mcp650 in terms of performance. So hey give it a shot and let us know how it goes =)

i don't know...i see conflicting reports on the web

for example robotech's testing on systemcooling shows the opposite

i think the best answer i guess is...not necessarily

From Cathar's thread
MCP600, WB delta = 16.9C, Water delta = 108 * 0.042 = 4.5C, Total CPU Temp = 21.4C above ambient
MCP650, WB delta = 16.8C, Water delta = 115 * 0.042 = 4.8C, Total CPU Temp = 21.6C above ambient
Yeah it is pretty close. A while 0.2c can be swayed both ways depending on testing I guess. I dont have any hard data, Ive only owned the 600 so I cant say much.

But from Bill's post Im guessing that Im way off about that blueline performing better than a MCP600 and at 110$+shipping I wouldnt give it a try if I had the chance.

edit----

and oh yeah, isnt that just a Pan-World 10PX? but DC?

Actually this one looks the best bet

http://www.coleparmer.com/catalog/pr...eferred_id=845

4 GPM 6' head and around 7W power dissipation. £69 in the UK.
Have asked them for P/Q curves and NOISE level Have an Eheim 1048 at the mo, which is totally silent.

the 15foot head one is interesting except for the fact that for only slightly more head pressure (compared to the mcp600) you have to suffer with 39.6 watts of power consumption. Not sure how much of that is dumped into the pump, but thats still alot of power. Even with half of that being dumped into the water its kinda high.

Bill can you spill the beans on your "something interesting" pump that you hinted at to me a while back. Correct me if im wrong, but it sounds like you have something to say in regards to these pumps.

Robotech has the MCP600 rev. 1 pump and that's what he used for testing...
An AquaXtreme 50Z-DC12 is sent to him

Still more expensive than a MCP650 though, you can pick one up for £55 (inc vat), or maybe less if you get one shipped over from the US due to the low dollar.

Fair point, although the MCP650 is 24 Watt. Noy sure about the relative noise levels either, yet

the output of ALL MCP600 pumps is the same
- the bearing revision did not affect the pumphead hydraulics

Bill why did you revise the MCP600 Pump Performance Graph on 9/26/03 then?
