I just got an amd 1.2 tbird and realied that the little coolmaster dp5-6h11 isn't enough, I started using it and it went from 82F to 114F in a few min... Where would be a good place to go and get a peltier and heat sink?

You can't use peltier/heatsinks w/ AMDDD t=birds. The heat is just too much for them. If you are looking for a good heatsink though, OCH and Swiftech make the best (the oversized ones).

114f is just fine. Athlon's run hot, they're built like tanks, they'll be fine all the way up to about 140f..

The problem is that a tbird at 1.2G puts out about 65W of heat (at spec voltage). You need a relatively large HSF just for that, adding a peltier in just pushes the power you need to sink too high for air cooling.
As for temps, my 1.3G runs at about 50C under load tops (that's around 120F), and that's not as hot as they can run. I misfitted the HSF and it ran for several minutes at over 100C before I noticed the temp sensor (then it crashed) and sorted it out. ![]()
