Here are the specs for the new PIZ series:
![]() ![]() ![]() (Sorry about the butchering of your original stuff cathar) Now the 20PI-Z-D has a similar curve to the MD30RZ with a heat output of a MD 20RZ at (input X output) of 55 x 30 watts!!! Head=~5.5 meters @ Flow=~9.5-10 LPM Calculations: 10PI-Z-D, WB delta = 16.5C, Water delta = 118 * 0.041 = 4.84C, Total CPU Temp = 21.34C above ambient Doing the same math for the 20PI-Z-D with 30 watts output: We'll get the following flow rates, and also the corresponding radiator C/W, and waterblock C/W at that flow rate: ~10LPM, 0.039, 0.157. WB delta = 100W * 0.157C/W = 15.7C, Water delta = 130 * 0.039 = 5.07C, Total CPU Temp = 20.8C above ambient. So now we have the following temps above ambient with the following pumps: (Originally by Cathar at ProCooling - the reds are my additions) +20.8C => Panworld 20PI-Z-D +20.8C => 2 x Swiftech MCP600 @ 13.8v (series) +20.9C => Swiftech MCP600 @ 13.8v +21.1C => Iwaki MD-20RZ @ 60Hz +21.1C => 2 x Swiftech MCP600 @ 12.0v (series) +21.2C => Iwaki MD-20RZ @ 50Hz +21.34C=> Panworld 10PI-Z-D +21.4C => Swiftech MCP600 @ 12.0v +21.4C => 2 x Eheim 1048 (series) +21.5C => Iwaki MD-15R @ 60Hz +21.6C => Swiftech MCP650 @ 12.0v +21.6C => Iwaki MD-30RZ @ 50Hz +21.7C => Iwaki MD-30RZ @ 60Hz +21.9C => Eheim 1250 +22.3C => Eheim 1048 +23.3C => Eheim 1046 Comments would be welcome. |

I am just about to bring my RD-30 online, but this does look interesting. Any ideas on price / availability? Noise? Anybody using one? Can you vary the motor speed without damage? Do they sell through distribution?
This line of pumps deserves further investigation. Someone interested should give them a call. The 24 VDC could be a little awkward, but the Iwaki RD-30 has a similar drawback...

I liked the one with a 4-20mA speed control - for testing
dunno about accuracy or repeatability |

You are reffering specifically to the AC pump. Havn't seen this regarding the DC pump. Last edited by nimrod_o; 12-05-2004 at 12:15 AM. |

I could have controlled the pump directly with my onboard PLC. Mabye we will know more about these by the time I build another system...

phextwin, what units are those prices in??? 500 for a pump that isnt much better than a md20 is not much of a deal imo, especially when you can get a rd-30 for less.

Singaporian (SING) dollars and australian (AUD) dollars.
Can't get rd-30's in aust that i know of unfortunatly, i asked iwaki aust and they don't do single unit orders, and declined to tell me of where i could get some ![]() Also, the 20-PI is ~= md30rz, but is DC = more efficient ![]() |

Phextwin - why would you bother with these pumps when you can still get a MCP 600 in australia? (though i see the prices are still quite high there for this pump.)
As i am stuck...can't get the mcp 600 - neither in Israel or the US (Cooltechnica seem to be "closed" - no replies to emails....i hope everything is o.k. there.) I might try these pump out. Last edited by nimrod_o; 01-22-2005 at 12:32 PM. |

Phextwin - I would be willing to part with my Iwaki MD-30RZ for the right offer...

Wow they look nice, 680 singapore dollars is a lot of cash for a pump though. :/

Price update. PanWorld quoted me the following prices yesterday:
15PI-Z-D is US$209 20PI-Z-D is US$253 30PI-Z-D is US$275 and noted that the 20PI-Z-D is currently out of stock. The pumps will run at 18VDC to 36VDC, they wont start at 12VDC so seperate power would be required. |

A 24V supply hooked up off the mains is also pretty easy to do, or you could buy a small psu prebuilt.
