Default My buddy is in Germany, what should i ask him to get for me??

Hey, so my buddy has been in Germany, interning all summer for a company over there. I've been wondering what should i ask him to get for me since so many great parts are made over there. I wouldn't even have to pay shipping. he's coming back Aug 6th. i've asked for an AlphaCool DDC top. but I've been thinkin' about more things, maybe for resale? what do you think is worth bringing back that we can't get at reasonable rates in the US?

Well with the Storm now being made by Swiftech, I doubt anyone over here will want any German made blocks, they don't perform as well. There are some nice grills and reservoirs though.

not sure how prices will compare - you may be saving on shipping, but you/he will be paying german VAT (sales tax) at 15%.....

i don't know how tax law works, but i do know how taxes work, especially VAT (i developed a VAT calculator at work so that the company can ship international and charge correct rates based on invoice location, shipping and warehouse location). He's a natural born German citizen, resident of the US, has a GreenCard, and pays taxes in the US, but for some odd reason, he doesn't pay tax in his native country. why??? i have no idea. that's all he told me. anyway, i thought the mods for the Laing DDC pump were really the only ones worth getting. if a PA160 was cheaper over there than over here, that would be the only other thing. so i asked him to go search for the AlphaCool top and the ABG reservoir/top.

I think that the alphacool top is well worth it for resale. I would have already purchased one, but I just can't justify shipping such a small item such a long way .

I'd say the large graphics/memory blocks are definitely worth getting. In particular the innovatek ones.

Prices you see at most german online stores are including sales tax.

I have a few listed here: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthrea...897#post887897

Silverprop is made in Australia (which is about as far from Germany as it's possible to get without leaving the planet )

wouldn't value be represented by the strentgh of the dollar against deutchmark or whatever they use in germany. When the pound was strong against the dollar it was well worth my while buying goods in the states. I've bought stuff from Alphacool, shipping to Uk was quite cheap I thought. Get him to bring you bback a BMW
