Sorry for the bad pic quality, gamespot only lets you stream up to 700k/s video. These are just screenshots of the more interesting things from Nintendo's E3 press conference.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Game Boy Micro ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() This is just a really small GBA. Plays all GBA games and has a "new crisp and bright screen" No new functionality... just... smaller... :shrug: High res pic here ----> http://e3.betanews.com/entry/Nintend...cro/1116377310 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mario Baseball ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mario Party 7 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() ![]() ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mario Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() ![]() ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Revolution ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() ![]() The Revolution is going to have 512mb of flash built-in. No 'official' specs yet AFAIK. The thing that I thought was coolest so far is it's backwards comaptability with all previous Nintendo consoles. You can play NES, SNES, N64, Cube, and Revolution games all and the same system. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Last edited by Nightfall; 05-18-2005 at 05:12 AM. |
nintendo is going to get its ass beat. Sony owned them all in this E3. MS and Sony are going to school Nintendo though.
I don't think that Nintendo is going to claim first place in the console wars. I am curious about this new "revolutionary" controller. Also, I think a *lot* of people will buy into the revolution because it will more than likely be cheaper than PS3 or Xbox 360, but you can also play NES, SNES, N64, anc Cube games on it. NES Mario Series Super Metriod The Legend Of Zelda Series Mike Tysons Punchout It will be cool to play all those old games without worrying if your 72-pin connector is fried and getting the flashing screen as a result. |
They cater to a different market, a younger and more feminine market. My wife loved the gc's releases of MonkeyBall, the entire mario party series etc.. Everything with Gamecube is always so bubbly, even this new zelda won't get to the core of what zelda could have been, link should be raping monsters all day long with blood spilling everywhere, but I assure you nintendo won't let that happen. Xbox is going to focus on it's current user base, I don't think they plan to win over a chunk of the ps fans because of how hardcore they are, MS was smart, they saw what happened to Xbox and the amount of xboxes that were sold to a niche that wanted to change them, and they made their box more customizable, and fitting to a persons personality. I think it'll do well with those who already own xbox, and those who love their ps2's better will always be sony fan boys. There is nothing wrong with it but all 3 companies will continue to release new consoles regardless of who "wins" this console battle.
!!! Backwards compatibility !!!
![]() ![]() ![]() My NES still works, but not sure for how long... ![]() Like bikr said, they appeal to a different market. I think Nintendo does a very good job appealing to the 'casual' gamer (or the less experienced), and those who want to play with friends in the same room. I must say, I find Mario Golf and Mario Kart DD much more entertaining with a few friends than playing Links 2004 or NFS UG on the XBox. *shrug* Seriously, though: how many ppl (besides me) only buy one console per generation?
I agree with the differant market idea, nintento isnt out to build a small supercomputer as sony and MS have. Plus theres a lot of good games out there if you can play both types, so thats added appeal. I think it will fair well, but not beat xbox and ps3 juggernauts. Just a nice simple game machine, kind of classic nintendo style. Im also guessing the price on one of these will be far below that of the other consoles.
I just buy new computers :-D screw consoles. |
My HTPC already plays every classic game that Nintendo ever produced; not interested in the Revolution
![]() As far as E3 goes, I am really impressed with Gears of War, Hellgate: London, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and the way that the xbox360 took Live up a notch from the xbox edition.
Shooters shooters shooters. Does everyone only care about bullets nowadays? The only decent company any more is Nintendo because they can make ANYTHING fun. Nintendo only captures the young femanine market? Give me numbers or stop spreading that rediculous rumor. I'm so sick of the "nintendo is for kiddies" ideas, just because nintendo spills less blood. They make great fun games and I've never objected to their controller designs. Always the most fun systems.
And before you scream, I own a PS2, sitting right next to me. Fanboyism does not run in my blood. |
Nintendo is supposedly revealing something big today... can't wait.
![]() Edit: http://nintendonow.com/index.php?cat...isplaycomments It's all speculation though, we'll find out today... i'm bad at waiting ![]() Another Edit: http://nintendonow.com/index.php?cat...articleid=2656 More 'proof' that Nintendo is going to unveil a 'revolution' today.
