Thanks.
Nice to see that Swiftech did not only change to delrin instead of aluminum, but that performance is also improved. AFAIK the MCW50's aluminum housing was the only real complaint there was anyway. Hope to see it compared to other blocks soon. |

It is now a good GPU option now IMO... I only wish they would come out with a threaded barb version like the Storm... I don't like the quick connect fittings.

They always seem to use unique fittings for their products. I wonder why that is... I'm sure most would prefer to have them use common/normal threaded barbs.

I find the way extra performance can be eked out of designs like this quite impressive. And the black delrin looks so nice too!

Like Jaydee said, taking a little off the base helps a lot and the mcw50 had a very thick base. The internals look exactly the same except for the large tapering or chamfering at the inlets and outlets. |

Just for clarification I have no clue what they did the thing to make it better. the base thickness was just an example of what it could take.

If you look at the internal picture of the top, they have aimed the coolant down towards the base at a more agreeable angle instead of the water hitting the back wall of the top and flooding down into the base as was the case with the MCW50. Another improvement over the MCW50's top was an added wall inbetween the 2 ports so that water cannot simply bypass the diamond pins altogether. These two minor changes can make for a nice leap in performance. As for the problem of the quick-connect fittings, couldn't you just drill them out and re-tap them to accept threaded bard fittings?
