Hey guys, hoping someone can help here.. I have a snap4200 and moved it to a different domain. I did a factory reset which should have set it back to the defaul admin user name and password but when I try accessing via https://snap<******> it tells me that access is denied. Any ideas? Thanks all!!

Hello and welcome, can you give more information here. Like how many times did you push the reset button?; What user name and password did you use? ; What version of GOS do you have? Are you tiring to log in httpS: or http: ? etc... Have you tried to use the "Snap Server Manager" via your windows machine to access the unit ? It's an alternative besides using the webGUI

Hi bitor, thanks for the reply. Yes, details would help
![]() fyi - A few months back I did setup the SNAP in my development lab by performing the factory reset and then configuring everything once I was logged in. Seemed like a breeze, but not so much now.. Running GuardianOS 5.2.056 I tried performing a factory reset, which from what I read resets the System Settings, Network and Admin password. Server is fully booted and I push the Reset button. After about 2 minutes it should restart and revert to the factory default, which it appears worked because I can get the WebGUI login page. Without the factory reset its a no go. After (and only after) a factory reset is performed I can access the login webpage by typing https://SNAP<Server number> I try the default name and password (admin) but get the "you cannot access".. Sorry I don't have it running right now but will post the exact error in a few hours once I can power the Snap up. Sorry, I don't have any software for the snap but I figured it would not help because I cannot log into the server to manage anything, or am I wrong? Thanks for any help and not bashing this noob!! |

I am able to login to the snap 4200 using the default admin ID (admin/admin) using a serial cable and puTTY.
I still cannot login to the snap via https with the defaults though. Would anyone know the commands to change or reset the admin password in puTTY? I placed a call w/overland a few days ago and have not heard back from them.. Thanks! |
