Default Another great place

Its in the local area near me, but I think they may ship stuff too.

Its called American Science and Surplus
www.sciplus.com

the place rocks!

they also sell Pelts:

Quote:
Peltier Heat Pump
High tech comes to Am Sci & Surp!! It is here in the form of a Peltier junction, a thermo-electric device that
translates electric power into heat, and perversely, into cool. Apply current @ 3-12 VDC to the gizmo and it
extracts thermal energy from one face, thereby cooling it. The heat is dumped onto the other face, thereby
heating it. Please note: you must use a heat sink on the hot side or the junction will fry itself, since it can
quickly create a 65° C temperature differential in a no load situation. Stack two, or build a cascade to
increase the thermal differential created. Or run it backwards. Apply heat or cold to the relevant face and
produce a current. Amazing for science projects and experiments. Practical for coffee warmers, beer coolers
and mini-refrigerator or warming oven applications. Comes with instructions. Small is 1.56" sq. x .15" thick,
large is 1.17" sq. x .12" thick.

and PS's for them:

Pro Power Supplies
A pair of regulated and filtered power supplies operating off 110 VAC, 60 Hz input and providing 13.8 VDC
output. PS-8 provides 6 amps constant, 8 amps surge output, (140 watts); ps-12 provides 10 amps
constant, 12 amps surge output, (200 watts). Both are MG Electronics’ Pro Power™ products. They are
thermally protected (auto reset), have input fuse protection, short circuit protection (auto reset), Voltage
surge protected and have low ripple. Roughly 5–1/2” x 4” x 9”. Very nice, well built general duty supplies.

Those peltiers look a little expensive... Dunno
check out www.tedist.com for much cheaper ones that are new, and you can also get the potted... Plus, you would also know the ratings

Hey Joe, How do I get ahold of some of that compound? My pelt is sitting here waiting to be installed. If you could help me out I'd be very grateful. grcrvcr@wans.net

tedist ROCKS! I bought a 24v 172WATT pelt from them (drift .8) and it cools better at 12V than my 118 12v pelt.

They are very small in size, about the same size as a 52-72WATT, are potted very well and also appear to be thinner in size..

If you are truly hardcore and you like pelts I recommend tedist pelts over anyone from now on..

I'm tired of chip pelts!!
