Default Plumbing question??

I'm in the process of building my first H20 box. I'm using one of those Cantex underground electrical boxes for a res and white pvc pipe and pvc cement and primer. Wanted to know if anyone thinks pvc is bad and why? Also what does everyone recommend for attaching the fittings to the res box, jb weld, epoxy, or rubber bushings? Thanks all....

PVC pipe is clean and pro. The only downfall is you cannot move around your pipes easily - you know when you want to change your setup....
I'm going to use PVC pipes too, with a few silicon hose parts to connect them so they can be removed.
Hhhmm about attachment methods it depends if you plan to move things. O-rings are the way to go if you want to assemble/disassemble at will. If not you should use a special PVC glue (usually bought at the same place you got your PVC pipes)

Thanks. I got the glue already, cause home depot didn't have all the threaded parts necessary for setup. I think I will glue everything caue it won't ever need to be changed. Except for the coupling that attachs to the pump, then I can clean the pump. Hey do you know if you can paint pvc?

What gmat said is right. PVC is great. The only problem is, unlike hose, it isn't flexible. I recommend a hybrid of the two. Use PVC for stationary parts like the reservoir, pump, radiator, and such, but when you attach it to the waterblock. Make sure there is a good amount of hose from the PVC to the block and back. If the PVC is straight onto the block, a sudden jar could have the PVC nudge the block and dismount it. Those hose would prevent that.

I'm gonna use vinyl 1/2" id 3/4" od tube. I got it from Menards for 4.50$ for 20', what a bargain..... I would use silicone but I'm poor & I don't ever plan on using a TEC so water probably won't ever get hot enought to melt the tube if the pump broke. I got the BLX and Danner Mag 5 and i will probably get a Maze 2 or a gemni sprial and mod it for 1/2". I will post pics when finished.

Yep we want pics indeed
You can paint PVC of course - i tend to prefer clear PVC though. You can use car bumper primer (for example) or any PVC primer then normal vinyl / spray paint. Car bumper primer is easily found, just as car paint spray cans

I'm going to try and use some rustoleum hammered finished black to paint everything with the case inside and out. Won't be done for like a month though, but hey its already been 5 since i started.

I have seen it only at Axe Man surplus, but all of it was only 1/2" pipe. I'm using 3/4" pvc pipe white and painting it black. I hope it don't end up lookin like Sheeet
