Anyone used a Hydrothruster 500. Money isn't an option for me, I just want to know how well it performs. And no, I don't want to hear about substitution pumps, just input on this one. Thanks.

It's a high pressure pump. It gets warm. It's lounder than other pumps...it has a fan to cool the motor which is what actually makes most of the noise.
The impellar assembly (the top clear section) comes off but doesn't allow water out when doing so. Pretty handy for me. Performance? Well, it has quite a bit more pumping power compared to nearly all the other pumps out there being used for H2O cooled systems. Is it necessary? Don't know yet. As soon as I get my rig finished, I'll run tests to see if the high flow rates help or not. You can see my travails with it at: Project PhattBastard |
