Default pc3000 ram

i'm getting a new mobo because mine is not so good. I'm thinking of the ASUS P4B533 and I'll need some ddr for that too. it says it works with pc1600/2100 ram, is pc3000 just oc'd or something? None of the mobo's say they support it, but i guess i just wanna know will that work with that mobo?

The Soyo board I just bought works with 333mhz DDR, IE PC2700.

I got this one, I love the features on it.

it runs at a 1:1 or 3:4 ratio. so if you are running your cpu fsb at 140, you can run the ram at 140 or 187mhz.

Buy the best ram you can afford

JEDEC has not certified a PC3000 RAM. All they have gone up to officially is PC2700. However, Corsair currently makes chips which they give an "XMS" rating. i.e. XMS3200. This is basically the same as PC3000 except that JEDEC has not certified them yet. A guy who works for crucial says that it isn't long now before a revised XMS3200 is released w/ better timings so i'm waiting for that...

ocsystem is basically OCZ. If you are going to speeds above PC2700/3000 or so, the Corsair ones are the only ones that really go through a rigorous process of testing. Just wait a few weeks and the Corsair PC3200 cas2 stuff will be out.

Or wait like 2~4 months until dual channel DDR is out!

Isn't that a mobo implented feature and not related to the actual dimm?

Then how does nForce do it w/ two standard dimms?

i dont know about the nForce's. are you referring to the nForce2 possibly??? I was only looking at it for Intel Xeon-based servers and it seemed it was built into the new memory controller (E7500 Memory Controller Hub) they were testing out. But Intel says its only 'validated' for ddr200mhz. even if you put ddr266 in it, it will only work at ddr200 speeds.

and as for the memory, its 128-bit ddr. i think i read you also have to do them in pairs too....but dont quote me on that part

it is in two banks, ie 64 x 2 = 128bit. All ddr being sold in current boards is 64bit
