Default Autocross Pics (large)

Well, with joe mentioning autocross on the front page, I thought I would post a few pics from our last one. It was lot of fun, and quite fast. The course was designed by a Z06 driver, so of course it had lots of sweeers, and several optional sloloms. (I know I can't spell, owell) I did eh, but who cares.

I drive a 91 honda CRX with 7 lbs of boost pushed through it. Of course the suspension is race ready with adjustable shocks and much stiffer springs. I run on Kuhmo Victoracer 700 tires. Here are a few pictures from the last couple to give those who don't know what it is an idea.

Yes, It was an SCCA event. It was done by the local club that I am a part of, SASCA (or San Antonio Sports Car Association). It was held at the local drag racing strip. We use their staging lanes as a parking area, and race on their parking area. It is a huge lot with lots of potential.

Yes, you can go with trucks. There is a guy who is local who drives an S-10 every now and then, but he has a corvette engine dropped into it and one heck of a suspention job done. VERY fast truck. In College Station, they have a truck class that they run so people can run whatever they want in it. They get everything I hear from rangers to 3500's.

Anyone in the area of texas needs to show up to one of these and at least tell me how much I suck at it. We have a site for the local club at www.conehunter.com . The schedule and maps to the place is on there, along with links to other clubs.

Now I'm wishing I had hung on to my ZX3, that looks like fun.

Can't see my diesel Jetta being too competitive, but my insurance agent has relaxed now.

well, it might. My G/F has one, and they are not too bad. I bet you could turn that turbo up quite a bit and get it really moving. In the class it would be in though, it would be competitive, just not with the rx-7's in the other class.

20 years ago, I lived to autocross. Thanks for the memories.

Yeah I was taching 3500RPMs last night in 2nd gear doing like 30MPH . My speedometeris off a little so I may have been doing like 40. Its pretty funny cause I start out in 2nd gear . Around town my tranny is only a 2 speed. Start out in 2nd and run in 3rd . I almost made it to 4th last night but I was coming up on a little SUV a bit fast.
