Ok, heres the deal; I've got an eheim 1048 and a chevette core with 1/2" barbs, and a Dangerden clear resevoir I'm using for an air trap, but I need a waterblock (sold my maze2 to a friend who was in dire straits).
Since i'm in a position to get a new one, I figured it might be a better idea to get one more suited for a lower flow rate, like a low flow gemini, or a spir@l/tc-4. What do you guys think? I don't have any 90degree turns, and I'm running 3/8 silicon tubing with 1/2 barbs on the res and core, so that should be less restrictive. At Gemini it says the barbs on the low volume cooler are 1/4", but at dtek they say they are 3/8", and hoot tested it at oc.com without saying that the 1/4" barbs forced him to mix up his tubing, so i'm a little confused as to what it actually is. Also, what about the spir@l/tc-4, or any other blocks? In lurking it looks like the tc-4 wouldn't be as good with my pump, but what about others? I've been doing alot of researching but it seems like info on systems with smaller pumps is starting to get scarce these days, and alot of people are just using maze 2/3s, even when alot of other people are saying that other blocks would be alot better for low flow systems. I figured it'd be best to stop trying to gleen info from people with similar, yet different setups, and get some straight opinions from more experienced people. |

Take a look at the following article :
http://www.overclockers.com/articles546/ The test were performed the same pump as you have too. I think the Gemini low flow Spiral would will your needs fine. |

Innovatek rev3 with a "barb operation" to put 1/2" barbs on it would be my suggestion.

Really? An Innovatek? May I ask why you say that? I just find it a little unusual. Not many other people seem to use em. I'm perfectly open to new suggestions, but just wondering a little. Arent Innovateks made of alu?

A waterblock that costs $75!? Sheeze! Is it cheaper than that at other places than HighSpeed PC?
Makes me glad I made my own waterblock and clamping mechanism. |

The block is anodized aluminum with a copper insert. I think Toms Hardware has some pics; it is a unique design.
$75? I thought $64 when I got mine. Supply and demand? It has to be imported from Germany so that also must be a factor. |

I'm using 2 innovatechs and they serve me just fine.
Since Iv'e got nothing to compare them with I can't really say if they are good or bad. My bios/MBM temps are: Idle 29C. SETI 31C and room is 27C so i guess the temp readings are a bit off. The blocks are barely warm to the touch when i use my "finger thermometer". One thing I can say is that the attachment system is excellent. Got no negative experiences so far with the blocks. Sig says the rest
