Has anyone tried the new Silverstorm3 radiator from Silverprop?
According to one online distributor in Oz: "The dimensions are 60mm x 190mm x 160mm. The water inlet/outlet are 1/2" and add approx 35mm to the height. The shroud adds approx 25mm to the depth." It sure looks good... I wonder how it performs? |

A fair bit bigger though... it's roughly as large as a DTek/DangerDen heater core (even a bit deeper). I'm not sure what it's made out of either. The guy I spoke to said it was fairly light... so possibly copper core with aluminium fins???

Just curious... How can they paint the fins without affecting performance? Are there certain kinds of paints that wouldnt kinda block the heat transfer?

It has built in mounting hardware! All radiators should have that!!! (Boltholes on top and bottom). I'm thinking of doing something similar to my BIX with some metal plating and JB Weld. Nice looking rad, tho.

Yeah, and a nice paint job. It would be just that bit better though if it had fan mounting holes on that shroud.
Still, looks like a winner.

it does LOOK nice, I guess we'll see about performance soon. It should have 2 shrouds!

The Rad is about AU$120. I'll wait for some performance figures before I part with my hard-earned cash though... What I don't understand is that I can buy DangerDen/D-Tek waterblocks and rads from the US, pay for the international shipping to Australia, and it still works out cheaper than buying the locally made Silverprop gear in Oz! |

mmatrix from the Cryophilia forums have this little arse (aka SS3) in his room. PM him to ask him about the performance, though he can only set up his water rig after his exams.
