ideas on mounting ballscrews on mini mill??

i have purchased some warner electric 3/8 inch ballscrews and nuts and am trying to figure out a way to mount them in my mini mill without extensive mods to the mill(mainly because i dont have anything else to machine it with!)
im wondering if i need to use thrust bearings or if i can use good quality precision bearings if held firmly on both sides?
i mean, how much axial force is really going to be put on the bearings with a mini mill anyway?
i ask this because finding thrust bearings to fit this ballscrew after machining the ends down to 5/16ths or so is impossible. i can find precision bearings all over the place that would fit snuggly on the ends. and i think that if i enclose the bearings just down to the ballscrew, with the motor mounting plate on both sides that this would work.

any ideas or suggestions from you fellow CNC'ers or knowlegable people out there??

Ball bearings type BN will do just fine, they can withstand some axial force from one side, so if you mount two in pair they will do the job , I can draw, how it's solved on my Emco mill.
What is the current mounting of the srews done on your mill?

ps. could you show pic. of thrust/precision bearings, because I don't know to which bearings I can associate them in my native language and name

pop some pics up and let us see what youa re working with, and what you are trying to do. Im sure we can figure something out.

Maybe if you can draw the parts you need with dimentions we can getthem made for ya.

Sorry I havent responded to my own post for some time.
I decided to go with bigger ballscrews (5/8"-5 tpi) and have already got everything mounted-including z axis conversion too.
Im just waiting on some current set resistors for my gecko's (I had to order them becuase this lame @ss town I live in doesnt have them above 10k-Ohm, and I need around 87k)
But I should have them by next Tuesday and Ill be making some serious chips then!
Everything is all set up and ready to go, just need those damn resisteors to crank it up!
