My center inlet hold down for Socket 7 using the clips.
As there are a few boards out there that do not have the mounting holes (some duelies) or have critical parts to close to the holes to use, I started developing a hold down device. At first it was simple because I never used the middle inlet but once the middle inlet was in use it became a real challenge to make it work. It still is not perfect but here is what I have so far.
The parts made I made with the lazer cutter and rotory engraver at work: It actually hold real tight! The biggest problem is getting it to set level on the core. The two screws make it a little difficult but i just don't know any better way yet. I seen the one Danger Den uses with the spring in the middle but I just don't think it would hold tight enough for my liking anyway. It isn't perfect but it is better than not using water cooling because of no way to attach it half way decent. ![]() Any comments on improvements are welcome! |

What kind of clamping pressure are you able to apply with it?

Very nice work there.
One gripe I had with my Maze1c's was trying to install hose clamps onto the centre barb. In the end I used two zipties to keep the tubing on there tight.
