What do you mean by "outlet screw"? If your talking about the threads on the the barb, then just put some teflon tape on it and it should solve the problem.

Unless you REALLY need a new one, or its REALLY leaking bad, or you have a REALLY long number at the bottom of your bank printout, just grab some goop and seal her up!

Cept there might be a better way if this is a common problem, I've never had an eeeehime so I wouldn't know specifics - but let's not burn a hole in our pockets just cause of the silly leak! (Plus its a chance to play around with stuff to make it work, who could refuse! - Especially if its already broken, it can only get better!)

[EDIT: Yes as FRAGN'STIEN said, if its not really a 'leak' in the sense of somethign busted, fix it properly ]

Hey kai. I wouldn't worry about it the pumps fine. That nut is a compression type fitting for certain hose. You don't even need that. I have an Eheim 1048 and had a leak right where your talking about. Go to Home depot, or the like, and ask for "teflon tape". If you don't know what it is it's a thin white (non sticky) tape to go on threads to stop water, gas from leaking through the threads. If you do know what it is ignore the last part.

Does the 1048 not have an O ring like the 1250?, tighten her up or replace the O ring. failing that PFTE tape the Beyatch! ... (or buy an Iwaki!)

its not the compression fitting i took that off , its the one small nut thats right ontop of the pump body and at the bottom of the outlet , further inspection determined that it was what slealed the outlet barbs into the pump , i think it came loose just from the hose pulling on it. If i take it out im going to take the stock barbs off and stick some poly 1/2 in there.
