Default What size of heatercore.....

I have a Lian -Li PC-75. Before starting to cut with my dremel and jigsaw on that case, I need your opinion. With a maze 3 block, a DD GF4 block, L30 and 1/2" tubing everywhere, will I see a difference in my temps whether I use:

this heatercore : http://dtekcustoms.safeshopper.com/19/92.htm?956 Dimensions(with tanks) are 6"W x 7"H X 2"Thick.

or this heatercore: http://jpiperformance.com/xlr120radiator.htm Dimensions(with tanks) are 6 1/2"W x 11"H X 2"Thick.

I know that with the XLR 120 Rad has enough surface to run quiet fans at low rpm and still get good cooling. The XLR is a bit too wide for the top of the case so I need to remove some alu in the way. Not a big deal though. The D-tek one fits without having to mod the top at all.

I want good cooling but will not use Pelts. So which heatercore should I use? And If I go with a shorter heatercore like the D-Tek one, I much CFM do I need?

I want silence, good temps but I'm looking for silence mainly.

thx.

I have the DTek core. I am running a maze2 with a xp 1800 running @ 1725 MHZ and my coolant temps only go down 2-3 degrees celcius whether i run the one Panaflow H1A @ 12 or 7 volts. I am confident that will keep your system cool at 7 volts. When mine is at 7 volts my PSU fan is loudest in my system.

Note: you may want to add items to your watercooling rig in the future. The XLR 120 Radiator would give you alot of headroom.

I believe the Dtek one can be found as a stock core in the heatercore database. Check the dimensions you desire and see if anything pops up. The database is located in a sticky at the top of the WC forum.

Unless you don't like money, always check all your options.

@ 7 volts

Idle
Ambient: 28
H2O: 31
CPU (Dioide) 39
MB: 31

Ambient: 28
Load H2O: 32
CPU(diode): 41
MB: 31

@12 volts

Idle
Ambient: 28
H2O: 29
CPU (Dioide) 36-37
MB: 29

Ambient: 28
Load H2O: 30
CPU(diode): 39
MB: 29

The mb goes down because of the increeased air flow in the case. Rad sucks air from outside and dumps it in case.

Thanks Brian. Well I finally decided to go with the D-Tek. I took some measurements again and looked at what I have to do to make the XLR fit and it simply will not be practical with my psu at the top and all.

So now I have an XLR and Scoop that are brand new to get rid of lol....I posted in the buy/sell forum...I'll wait and see.
