Default ViaAqua 1300 and Cyclone block

Hello all. I'm glad I came across this forum.

Right. I'm new to watercooling but not to computers. First things first. I'm using a ViaAqua1300 pump in a reservior (well currently a bucket). I have a PSU with about 4mm piping across the Heatsinks running in parallel with a Silverprop Cyclone Evolution-S WB. The block has 1/2" ID tubing. T joins are used (1/2" 1/2" 4mm type). Running this only makes the pump go nuts. That is rattling a lot.

What is wrong with this. Why does this pump struggle so much?

I'm thinking perhaps I should get an Eheim 1048 or 1250.

I don't believe its a matter of bleeding the air out. As I have left the system to bleed for an hour and it sounds to different. Cavitation perhaps?

Also, when I attach my radiator alone or in with the WB and PSU the pump still goes nuts. The pump does not come with 1/2" adapters so I've used the 19mm threaded fitting with a small length of 19mm tubing clamped to a 19mm->1/2" adapter (barbed not threaded) for the discharge outlet. The suction side is left as 19mm (or whatever that size is)

All help appreciated.
