Default Logitech MX700: Oh. My. God.

This is the sweetest mouse I've ever used. It fits the hand like nothing I've ever held (save maybe a pair of "D" cups I'm fond of), has outstanding response, even compared to my previous dual optical mouse, and has buttons coming out of the arse. Further, it doesn't have a cord to worry about, recharges from the base station, looks awesome, and has no effect on my pirate wireless transmissions.

If you have $60 to spend, need a new mouse, and want one that you will treat as an heirloom (no seriously, it is THAT good), look at this thing. Now that I have one for home, I'm going to definitely pick one up for work, though I might just let this baby commute with me because the guys at the office might steal it.

PS: The cruise control buttons are great for getting through junk posts in slashdot.

Further update: full charging takes less than two hours ... makes for easy use. I do have to admit, though, if the base unit is too close to an RF generating source, the mouse is worthless ... it needs to be at least 6" from any electronic components, and within about 4ft of the mouse itself. But then, how many people needs something they can use from the bathroom?

hey hey!
I'm on the same mouse right now. It definitely is sweet. I just like how I don't have to switch batteries anymore. My only complaint is that I think the "cruise up" button is a bit of a far reach for my small hand.

i was interested in that mouse when it came out, but i spent like $70 on the original (i think anyway) logitech cordless opitcal mouse about a year ago, so i don't think its worth it the upgrade just to save batteries (i only have to replace them about every month or so). great purchase though, i love mine and i know the one you guys have is even better.

Hehe i was in a similar situation. I had that cordless optical mouse (the blue one right) from Logitech. Honestly, that's such a great mouse. In fact, I think i ever so slightly prefer it's design as I have smaller hands than most. This is a pretty nice mouse, though, if you ever upgrade...

If you go to staples, you can "price match" it to the vendors on Pricewatch and pick it up for around $60. Quite a nice investment.

oh kevin, im in the same ballpark as you i guess because my hands are relatively small so going from a microsoft optical explorer mouse the my current logitech one (yeah its the blue one) was a nice change.

Everything they sell, just about, can be pricematched with an identical unit elsewhere (or on the web). This is a great way to get wireless gear, hubs/switches/routers, speakers, software, monitors, HDDs, and other assorted goodies for the best price without having to wait for shipping. They do, however, include the cost of shipping in the matched price. So, for an easy example on this mouse:

Pricewatch price at Techsavings.com: 57 + 5.95 s/h = 62.95. They will honor that price rather than their retail price of 79.99.

This is the best way to get your hands on cheap equipment quickly.

I've never used a more accurate mouse, even with the other opticals I've used. It has had an impact on my gaming, a very GOOD impact.

It is 800 dpi at 4.7 megapixels/second. Latency is the same as a corded USB mouse (phenomenal for a cordless system).
