i'm looking for a new email client for x... getting real tired of using outlook, but i want a program that's similar to outlook, if at all possible. i don't really use the calendar stuff, just contacts and mail, and i have a few mail rules set up. so far i've found ximian, but haven't tried it. i'd also like something i can import my .pst files... i have a lot of mail, good share of it is important. it would be a second bonus if the software could *output* to .pst, but that's not exceedingly important. has anyone used ximian? any suggestions would be appreciated.

yes, well, i can't argue with pine, generally fast & efficient, but i'm looking to replace outlook.
i don't think the netscape package has *quite* what i'm looking for... used that in an old RedSuck system.

no, i don't use kde. used to. installing windowmaker this go-round, which has full kde compatibility, of course
![]() ideally i just want to be able to use a good mail program, preferrably with rules (like 4+ pop accounts), and that i can import my old outlook mail. if i could import my old outlook mail, and be able to do like regular backups or something.. i dunno. fairly simple requirements, i guess. the rules and outlook export would just be a happy perk. the lappytop uses windows, and when i travel, i have to use outlook that way, don't think i'll put unix on that just yet. see what i'm getting at? i'm doing like 3 things right now, so i hope that makes sense.

Back in my wild, carefree Linux days, I really liked Ximian Evolution.

I'm using Mozilla -> it's fine
You can import your outlook box in there. (with a 3rd party util) My colleague (at work) works with Opera. Looks neat as well. Same inbox format. |

Evolution is good when it doesn't crash.
