ok, the setup i'm working on is a microchannel design with the barb sitting right over the cpu for the fluid flowing in. the question i have is i've seen people use both a nozzle type to kinda spray the channels and i've seen a slot type of nozzle too. My question is does it matter that much to have these over a full flow nozzle (basically just the barb in there) and wouldn't this type of setup actually restrict the flow of water through the system which again wouldn't be a good thing. or if i'm just missing something here let me know. also what would be the detriment of using neither of the above mentioned and just go full flow?
thanks |

The nozzles work on jet impingement.
They are designed to increase water velocity, and therefore must restrict the flow somewhat. I believe on Cathar's block the nozzle gained a 1-2ยบ improvement. |

I actually was thinking about the same thing..
I understand that it improves performance and restricts the flow... but as i think it would only do that in a system where only the CPU is cooled so the pump would just handle this much.. In my case, i have... PUMP-> CPU(1 input, 2 outputs),(1 output cools NB->MOSFET), (2nd one GPU->HDD),then they connects and go into HeaterCore... so my system is already restricted enough..... if i did a nozel on the CPU block would this make better results in MY case???? Or would it just restrict it even more and makes it worse? my pump is HYDORL30.... All blocks are microchannel hand made...
