Default Hydor L30 Questions Does it rattle / lack of shielding?

I am going to build another water cool system using the Hydor L30 for the very first time. I have used only the Eheim 1250 in the past.

Does the Hydor require the impeller be glued in order to eliminate any pump rattle?

How big of a problem is the lack of shielding? Too bad I just read of this today after I acquired the L30.

Dumb question, can "shielding" be added?

TIA
Jim

I don't know for the shielding (not using any / had no problem with that).

But for the rattling, i had to glue the impeller.

Thanks Gmat, same method as glueing the 1250 with epoxy? I no longer can find the link to the webpage illustrating how to fix pump rattle.

Got this as a suggestion for fixing my rattling Eheim 1048.

Sheilding can be added by surrounding the 'offender' in a ferrous/magnetic metal...
