Has anyone gotten a BIX to fit in the bottom-front of their PC65 (new model) or know of a better position to place a rad for a closed loop system w/ res.
my initial thought was to have the rad standing up where the dual fans are, but would there be enough room under the case if it was laying down instead? (images NOT to scale ![]() ![]() (above) i'm not too sure if the BIX has enough clearance by itself or with a shroud (under the 3.5 drive cage above it). vs ![]() (above) the problem with this is that if i put it on the floor, it can start sucking up lint unless i put a filter but that'll restrict airflow. Or maybe just putting the BIX on the bottom and just 1 Panaflow M1A sucking air though the BIX (or should i stick with two?). I'd preffer the second method so i dont need to remove my front USB ports. The front usb port pcb/connector is in the way and would need to be removed if using the first pic. I looked at setting up the BIX in the front of my PC65. To make it fit you will have to drill out the rivets with the guides for the HDD rack on the bottom of the case. Here is a few pics of how I setup my closed loop in the PC65

I also setup my closed loop system in the lower-front of a PC-60. My case is one of the earlier PC-60's made, without front USB ports or the lower drive cage that mounts HDDs vertically, so removing said cage was just a matter of drilling out two pop-rivets and bending down the tabs for the pc-speaker with a pair of fine-nose pliers. It is definitely a squeeze to fit, and don't be surprised if the paint on the top of the BIX gets a bit chipped as you try to force in the 3.5" cage, but it does work - just watch out for vibration from the pump.
I'd suggest you mount the pump vertically, with the inlet/outlet facing towards you. I doubt you'll need two M1A's - the twin 80mm fans + a suitable 120mm intake should be more than enough for most heat loads the BIX can handle. If you want to go overkill, I'd recommend upping the ante on the radiator, perhaps get a heatercore and mount in the same position, but remove the 3.5" bays altogether and cover the gap in the front bezel with an LCD screen or something...now there's an idea... ![]() |

Only place I could find room to mount the BIX was to loose a 5 1/4 bay up top & mount it horzontal. I used that bay for my rheobus anyway.
IMHO the hdd cage is one of the lian li's nicest features. |

Yeah the radiator is under the blowhole
Totally inline with a 3 tap setup for filling & bleeding |

how did you setup a shroud to stay on the bix at the blow hole (i also heard [newbie] it's bad to have the rad at the top of the case since that's where a res should be cause of air bubbles getting trapped there [/newbie]) what is a 3 tap setup, could you pls explain that |

I am going to place a BIX and a reservoir (a bit higher) outside of my Lian Li 68, on the top of the case.
