Default Accurate Core Temps

What method has everyone found to give them the most accurate core temps? I'm running an XP 1800 with a Maze 2. My first thought is to take a CompuNurse, cut the plastic off of the sensor and attach it directly touching the side of the core with thermal epoxy. Any other ideas?

Get a mobo that supports the thermal diode.

I believe the XP's has a built in thermal sensor, check if your motherboard supports it.

Are there even any widely available boards that support the onboard diode? Last I heard all the new KT266A boards still used probes.
