Would it be possible to put a custom made waterblock onto a DDR memory card. You could also put a peltier on it. Would someone go through the effort to do this? It would be possible to use one 1GB PC 3500 or 3700 card for this that way there is sufficient memory. all of the slots would be occupied/blocked because of the WB and DDR card. A long rectangular pelt would be used here (probably two of them).

It's been done.
and it's been flamed. You really can't justify watercooling an 8 Watt source of heat. There's a crazy fellow that had a whole bunch of rads that tried it, and I believe he got no improvement from pelting the RAM. Kudos for trying it out though... |

droping temps well below freezing showed no OC'ing improvement? Are there any links you can throw at me?

Sorry, you'll have to run a search here, if the thread is still around. Otherwise, the fella has an article up on OC, but I don't think it covered the RAM.

Thats the link where the guy pelts his RAM. Didn't get him any further. Although to be fair, there is no reason why it shouldn't work. In his case though, it doesn't. |

It's pointless. I've read of two people who've TEC cooled RAM(DDR) and both were non starters, even H2o is OTT for RAM. Good passive cooling is all that's needed, and then only when over 3~3.2volts realy  ...
