Default The urge to UPGRADE...

ya! you got the itch, and it needs scratchin.... REAL BAD! you want to go cross-platform.......

wouldn't it be nice to have the ability to use one single CPU Block on all the top line CPU/motherboard configs to date? And with possibly/ hopefully very minor modifications, be able to handle a couple of weird and unknown derivatives in the future. Possibly maybe something like this.......

how about the unlikely possibility of enabling your existing Athlon (through hole) block, to become such a beast....
just imagine.... Athlon, Xeon, P4, Opteron .... whatever....

I could cut those acrylic peices in seconds on the laser. When I say seconds I mean it. Probably take 10 seconds each including the holes.

Looks good!

What handtools do you use to cut the acrylic?

good old hacksaw... and then a disk sander to get to the desired shape, a little bit of 600 grit to get the sides that foggy kind of a shine, and I need to go get a small buffing wheel, to finish them off completely. The flame polishing works, but it just ain't the same as a propper rubbing session with some Silvo

Just like clear glass! No need to buff. The bore of the holes are even clear.
