What cind of design should I make my waterblock of? I don't got that many tools, no milling machine or something fancy like that. Just the usuall stuff that everyone has. But I got access to a drilling machine, the one where the thing you make the hole with (where the heck did that english - norwegian book go!) is at top, and you lower it with a handle on the right side of the machine.
I've seen some designs with just a lot of holes, that are connected together, and the water flows from the right to the left side (or opposite). That design seems quite easy, and doesn't require any other tools then the ones I got allready. The computer I'm going to use has a CPU (P4) of 2,4 GHz. Anyone? |

#rotor is probaly ure best bet, or if you have tons of cash to burn, design something and use www.emachineshop.com to have it milled. The 300 gremlins that they use to make ure waterblock will take about a month to complete it I've heard. Copper cap designs are much less popular now, but are good. www.spodesabode.com for more info on that. You will need to know how to solder to make a copper cap block though.

your plumber friend should be able to teach you the basics of getting the tempature right, fluxing, soldering, but i doubt he can solder like whats needed for a waterblock. Its just a completely different theory. In plumbing, the fitting slides on the pipe which holds it fairly well in place, u flux, heat, then solder. There generally isnt much to hold a waterblock together so it requires a different level of skill.
