Default i'm looking for a simple design tool

i would like to draw some simple 2d schematics with dimensions of a fan shroud and an hd block but i can't find a freeware tool, can some one point to the right direction.

I had one a long time back, it was actually really similar to autocad. It was called Intellicad or something really similar.

Works really good for what you are looking for.

use a trial version of like rhino3d or something, then ditch it.
it is a 3d progy, but you *can* use the splines for a 2d drawing
anyway

PTC has some 3D-cad program called Pro/DESKTOP which I think can make 2D-drawings too.

The program is free.

You can get a free learning edition of Turbocad at:
www.turbocad.com
Its a good program once you get used to it.
