Default Wrong place, right question

A few questions, as all the knowledge is here

- Memory: At what time will a higher CL timing beat a higer FSB?
(PC3700 at cl2 or pc4000 at cl3)

-CPU: What voltage is "safe" with a good WC setup?
What is a good FSB for a P4 2.8? (now @ 270 1.8v)
(Are there better? and at what voltage?)

- CPU/memory divider: My Kingston won't go above 256mhz, so I use 5:4 if I want to go higher. What's the breakpoint?
At 5:4 I can get memory to run at cl2 (not my Kingston )
At 1:1 I can get memory to run at cl2.5 (270fsb)(OCZ 1Gb PC4200 EL-DDR )
At 1:1 I can get memory to run at cl3 (280fsb)(OCZ 1Gb PC4200 EL-DDR )

What will be faster, and how much? I can pay loads of money to get the memory run at Cl3 with 1:1 @ 280 (PC4200) or a some cheaper to let it run at Cl2 with 5:4 @ 220 (pc3700)

And... 2 x 512 or 4 x 256.... what's faster?

if the PC4200 is "loads" faster, it will cost me 427 euros
If the PC3700 is "equal" speed, it will cost me 325 euros

The Kingston is sold, so I need some new memory. I also can sell my P4, and try to get one of those newer "Z5" (2.8) to see how high that one will go. I'll keep the best performing one

Thanks for the reply!

The article gave just about all the info I needed.

As I don't go for high benchmark scores, but more the look and feel of my OS, I'll have to go with the lower FSB/faster timing memory.

(Somehow I don't feel to enthusiastic about this.. 1:1 "sounds better".. Oh well, jus see how deep my pocket goes when I’m at the shop.( the OCZ 1Gb PC4200 EL-DDR seems to give best of both worlds)

Can someone of the moderators relocate this post to the right place?
