OK, im not a moron when it comes to computers, and this problem with the SB audigy2 zs is pissing me off. I installed the card, everything is fine... I disable the onboard sound for my NF7 and uninstall the drivers for it before I even start with the new sound card, but upon installation not a sound comes out of the stupid thing. My speakers are fine and are connected right, I have tried it in 2 PCI slots with no effect. I have restored windows to a previos time and tried it again to no avail. Installed all new drivers for everything I have, tweaked every setting in control panel and checked everything twice... nothing seems to work.
When I got it at Bestbuy today (I had a $50 gift card ) the only one left was in a beat up box that looked like it had been opened after being run over by a train. I'm not sure if it was a returned item or not, it had plastic on it but im not sure if that was done after the fact. I have tried everything to get my sound working so I can play games and listen to music, I have no idea how to fix it. I have spent 3 hours now troubleshooting for nothing. Anyone else have this problem?

I don't know if you've tried this but;
Goto Control Panel> Sounds and Audio Devices> Audio Tab> Make sure the Audigy is selected in all the drop down boxes. Hope it helps |

I hope you got it fixed, In my own case I tried the original Audigy gamer card.
Worked fine on my PC, bought 2 more for PC's I was building, not a peep out of either card in any of the 3 PC's. Tried the card that was working in the new PC's still nothing. Reinstalled it in my PC, lost surround sound , only had left and right front speakers. Called Creative and spent the afternoon on the phone with thier tech. When all was said and done his reply was " well you can buy a forth audigy and try it, or go buy a different sound card". I bought a Hercules Game theatre XP, never had any trouble with it. Word to the wise A-bit and Creative audigy dont play well together. At least they didnt when they first came out. I still use Creative speakers but you couldnt give me one of thier sound cards. My question is, is your board a NF-7S? if it is the sound is just as good if not better than the creative. Good luck Aardil |
