I am making a sound mixer of sorts... inputs are cd player, mic's, tape player... all needing to go to an output of a master volume knob...
I was wondering if it be possible to use something so that the sound doesn't travel backwards... the power of the sound i guess is what i mean...

?!?
You normally mix the various lines before amplifying it. What do you mean by "sound doesn't travel backwards"? |

Ah, you're talking about isolating the various inputs from each other?

You'd need to make an amplifier circuit. At the minimum, something along the lines of a variable gain diffence amp for each input, then feeding those into a summing amp.
In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, National Semiconductor has some good app-notes for their op-amps. Start with AN-20 "An Applications Guide for Op Amps". If you value your time and audio quality, buying something professionally made is best. |

Radio Scrap sells these pretty cheap, and work fine: it was my first one.
