Allright, I have more or less narrowed down what my setup will probably be like. First, I will have MCW6002 cpu block and probably a maze 4 gpu, though I have seen few comparisons amongst gpu blocks.l. Im also looking at the mcp600 pump. Im looking into WA2s heatercores, basically a Caprice.
Now, for the real questions/controversy. 1. I am more than likely going to mount my HC at the top of the case.(P160) I will be able to get more unrestricted airflow there and a bigger HC than if I went front, even though I will have warmer air. a.Is it better to have this large HC in top rather than a Dtek Jr. Size in a restricted front? b. I can only fit one shroud in the top. Will a Caprice in the top with only pulling fans be better than a Jr. with push/pull? c. My other components seem fairly restrictive, will I see decent results with a larger HC compared to a normal size? ( I wanted to get a 2-342, but it just wouldnt fit ![]() 2. I plan to use 3/8 id tubing. Everything in my setup has 1/2" barbs, therefore it I am guessing I will get good performance, only slightly worse than the same system with different tubing only. a. Will 3 /8 system actually be better if I would have to either kink 1/2" or use elbows b. DD says 3/8 can strecth over 1/2" barbs, I want to make sure this is true 3. I am strongly considering a T-line being placed at the end of the system, under the GFX card as seen in many systems. I plan to have a short 1/2 id tube run to the pump inlet on one side of the T. a. Will this allow for sufficient pump work? Overally, what I am trying to do is get a system that works darn good, even though it is not technically optimal. I am mainly asking because it seems my setup goes against everything pH taught and he is either ashamed at my disregard of his guides or is laughing at my stupidity. |

1- good idea
a- the former b- the Caprice- push pull in does increase turbulence and pressure, but you have more surface area and the probability of more airflow with two fan in parallel on a Caprice c- larger means more surface area and more space for fans- all cooling systems come down to airflow, I say keep the larger heaterfore if you have the space 2- not a good idea a- it really depends on your system, and how you position elbows, but I recommend you find some way to work with 1/2"ID because of the benifits of lower restriction as compared to 3/8"ID b- as far as I know, only elastic tubing can do that, such as vinyl ones like Eheim; pour boiling water over the ends and give it a shot 3- a- should be fine if the barbs don't have too small a nipple |

Alright, since I plan on having 1'2" barbs I can see how different tubing works and possibly experiment with it.
