Even though the BI Extreme is available, I notice that no one is even talking about its performance. I know a couple of guys here bought them, but I don't see where there has been much talk about how these rads perform. No site has done any reviews of them including here. Are they that uneventful in performance no one is talking about them?

they perform very well for their size, but they also cost a lot. Most people are buying heatercores instead, as they are 1/5 - 1/3 the price, and cool just as well. (even if they are bigger)

Numero Uno reason - Too hard to get one, the first batch that went out went to people that prepaid. And frankly, Chip's track record with shipping doesn't inspire most people, so I doubt anyone who writes for a hardware site prepaid for one.

Do you have the proper testing equipment?

i have a DD5. with a probe touching the core of the cpu, and one touchin the core of the vid card (geforce2). and of i could have the other probes where ever you could imagine.
the BI extreme is comming monday... so i should be able to test it out nextweekend. want me to take pics, record stats, and send you a review? |

the cpu core temps will do I think.
just give us the core temp before and after, I think that is enough, it will give us a fair indication, as long as ambient temp is kept the same |

I haven't seen one of the super cube, probably because the old one had such a bad reputation

I think I read a review of the SuperCube somewhere.. Overclockers.com maybe.. Maybe not tho.. I think the only reason nobody has reviewed that is because it costs way too much, and won't touch the performance of a heatercore. I think it looks gorgeous though, I'd love to have one.

actually i never knew it had a bad reputation.... i thought it cooled good... were there other problems?
the super cube is nice... but with the "oem" design... its hard to pull any air through it... i had to take of the side panels, and pull air through it that way. i havent really used it, but i wanted to see what it could do i got 35 idle and 41 max temps on my cpu die 26 ambient with only a crappy 92mm fan on it PLUS i have video and chipset coolers in the loop. |

yea i know those are bad temps... but i wasnt lookin for massive performance... just something under 45C
and thats why its just a very low cfm 92mm fan on it |

not sure about my water temp, havent made a connector for that yet... the rad IN pipe is slightly warm to the touch though. i should probably get a slower pump, the rio 1100 is rated at 420 gph at 0ft and i think 382 at 1 ft.... the water is probably goin at about 250-300 gph... a bit to fast hey? the water is probably a uniform temp all around cause of that

nahh, the pump is just fine.
how hot is the outlet of the radiator? maybe you should try overvolting the fan or something like that, to see if the rad is holding you back |

i have some 120mm fans that i had in the original mounting positions.. and they gave me equal cooling as i have with the "modded"(not really) version
but they couldnt pull through any air because of the design.. i will try and get them on the radiator with the "mod" soon and see what i can do |

yeah, do experimentation like that, it should determine fairly quickly what you should do to improve your temps
