and yes, it is very long but it gives a pretty straight forward idea of what is going on with Intel processors right now compared to AMD.

lol... hehe this was funny... athlons are good... but if they were mated and made to run with rambus it would be even faster than it is... besides ddr is proprietory... since rambus is used in only p4 systems it is considered "the" proprietory ram. Although amd used the cheaper solution it is still much as proprietory. But it would still be faster than the intel if they made it for the rambus... Theoretically. Remember that word with ddr? hehe... and basically all things that were suppose to be faster than they actually were..

1866MHZ athlon XP beats the shit out of a P4 at 2600 MHz.
There are TONS of benchmarks that illustrate this point.
AMD is cheaper in cost. AMD kicks Intel's ass even at lower MHz. AMD's IPC is 9. Intel's is 6.

That link is to a picture of a hammer!! I don't think that it had much to do with processors.

I just don't like AMD. Intel chips have less problems, and they are more widely supported than AMD (lets see you find over 100 AMD Athlon XP boards). Plus, as I've already stated, game developers tend to think that Intel is faster, and better.

Now, as long as you are not a mac fan, I'm happy for you. The last thing we IBM users need is division among the ranks.

But, Intel is and will remain my prefrance.

Doubtful if you still have that opinion. And are you going to buy one of each of those 100 motherboards?

I hope not since most of them suck. And there are easily over 100 Athlon XP boards, get your head out.

Just think, it take a P4 clocked much higher to match the performance of an Athlon. You aren't going to change any minds here with what you've said so far. Don't go into sales.

What problems have AMD CPU's had? What game developers thing Intel's faster?
Back in the day of the sys req's you posted, sure. But AMD's come a long way. It used to be OCers loved intel's cellerons. Now we don't. Times change.

If intel's SO much faster, plz explain those benchmarks.
AMD's are also a better value due to their great performance and low cost.
