Default IWAKI pumps?

I was wondering if anybody owns an IWAKI pump. Any complaints with them? I'm looking to builda high flow water cooling system, and the WMD20RLT caught my eye. It delivers 420 GPH at 4 feet head, with low heat transfer to the water.

Thanks,

Rob

Iwaki make quality pumps for almost any application, but they are typically pretty expensive. You might find a deal on ebay though.

From what I understand, Iwaki makes some of the best pumps around. However, they are expensive.

Make sure you get an RLT pump and not an RLXT pump (the RLXTs are for circulation pumps only and don't handle backpressure well). And yes, in the aquarium world they are a well respected brand.

You might want to shop around at a few more fish supply shops though.

the store formerly called The Pet Wharehouse has the same pump for $105

and

the place I have done most of my large supply buys for the last 15 years has them for $103

OMG, I just checked out the Iwaki RD series pumps. They look like a pretty sweet deal. Unfortunately, they are 24VDC though. They are rated to last up to 25k hours! They are pretty small too.

I'm thinking of taking the pump out of my res and putting one of these little critters in there instead. The RD-20 looks like a pretty nice fit. Its fairly small too, so I could fit it in my machine without too much trouble.

I just wonder if it is shielded. Its a mag drive pump..
