Default bladerunner does it again

His stuff is always soooo nice. Would be pretty cool if gainward ships a card with that as an option.

It would be even cooler (no pun intended) if he made the same setup for the ati cards...

Interesting. I know that with just the 2 connections going to my cpu block, the 6 on that card would be a huge ordeal. I can't even imagine the hassle. However, if you want borg... this is borg.

Bladerunner has already made a similar setup for his 9700, though I don't think it's in commercial production.

I hope he is getting paid $, not just ego strokes

my conversations with them were NOT encouraging at all
- as in salaried employees asking for free advice, saying 'some day in the future'

no thank you

I wonder why he just didn't do a straight-through on the ram block. Forcing the water through what amounts to three 180-degree turns (on each side of the card) would create a lot of resistance.

Still, it looks cool.

had the same experience with some bigshot distributor, a year or so back. This guy got down right nasty about things, and expected me to comply with his every wish and command, like handing over every design I've came up with, so their experienced technicians can evaluate it...

sorry to start carp on the thread but i went and talked to a few companies around and after that i say F4ck that!

i'll make blocks for me and my friends, keep it unique and cool.

My predictions are that gainward is going to get f4cked over with thier plans to luquid cool the GeforceFX. Because of the fact that not many people will buy it

the design is a joy for the eye. although the 6 connection ... ??? i would like to see that implemented in an existing setup. would they use some sort of distributing barb, command center like?

I know he didn't one for the 9700 or the 8500 but i can't find it. Below is the link to the block he did for the GF4, which is similar. I hope for his sake he gets something out of it. He seems like a cat that works damn hard, just like #Rotar. I know I don't have that much time. I think the masses will jump on the first water cooled card out, only cause it's new and looks cool. Has anyone noticed how mainstream moddin & cooling has become, i.e. compUSA and best buy no carry case lights and custom fan covers. LOL

Not so long ago, I e-mailed Bladerunner on the subject of ATI Radeon 9700/9800 waterblocks. His reply was as follows:

Quote:
"I'm trying to get my vga cooler builds made into a buyable kit format, but with limited funds to throw at the task it's an uphill struggle and may end up costing out more to make them than people would be prepared to pay for such a thing, I will keep at it though. Additional to this I'm assisting Gainward in a cooling project as well." (well, we know what that one is... )

"The Radeon 9700Pro build article is outlined here if you haven't seen it yet.

http://www.deviantpc.com/articles/ati9700wc/index.shtml

updates to the above including overclocking with volt mods plus other findings and results are detailed in this topic

http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthre...eadid=33651150

The way I tend to work is not that pre-planed as I usually make basic measurements on the copper piece and mill it out adjusting as I go.

I have since taken more accurate measurements from the finished blocks to have a batch CNC'd some initial samples of VPU and backside ramblock shown here:

http://www.zerofanzone.co.uk/project...300blocks2.jpg

At this stage I don't have the ability to make custom one offs for people and It's most likely it will be some for of complete kit including water-blocks for the ram. Ram water-blocks were required for my card to run through a 3d app with heat-related issues. DDrII has even more serious heat issues that I found in making a block set for a Geforce FX 5800 Ultra

http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showth...ht=bladerunner

regards jonathan"
So let's keep our fingers crossed and hope he can get a kit out...
