One exotic material (carbon black) and a couple of Arctic Silver products. I know I am impressed by the motherboard and ram tests that these guys do. Here's the thermal paste testing:

BOOYA! i love my little tube of ceremique. i call it "barbie dildo", but it's good stuff. i love the fact that it's non-conductive and so i used it on my Cnurse under the die. this allowed me to cut away that plastic wrapper on it and expose the sensor to the base of the cpu as closely as possible.

I just scanned their article, but I didn't notice exactly how they were controlling case temperature (or accounting for it if it changes). I didn't see any real description of how they cleaned the CPU and heatsink between tests either, and that is probably the most important parameter. They did do the tests in reverse order every run though so it would be interesting to see how they varied over runs. The Ceramique does indeed seem to be pretty nice paste though.

i wonder if they rubbed the ceramique into the heatsink to "polish" it. either way the only thing that'll take that stuff out is sanding/lapping of the plate.
