The DF servers aren't calculating the points right. They seem to be giving 1/25 of the usual points. And with it starting on a Friday night, we'll have the whole weekend to suffer before it gets fixed.

I'm sure they'll give the appropriate points come repair time. But if you're paranoid, run off-line and buffer your generations until Monday.

Methinks that now would be good time to put the "Profolding Helps Us" add in the main page again, since it has completely scrolled out of circulation, and now we are down to 42 members out from 50 a week or so ago.

Perhaps it's just my imagination but think that while the profolding add was showing at the main page we were getting at lest one new member each week.

What o you think, Joe?

This is annoying - now my server machine ain't putting any points on the board. With my downtime to my main computer looking to last into next week as well I am falling behind in my production.

Even before then I was only folding about 25k/day as apposed to 75k/day I know it ain't much but if everyone only folds 1/3 the amount then we have a serious problem on our hands.

Before we start advertising for new members we'll have to fix the problem (or find out what is going on) first - otherwise it'll just look bad.

Boli is right.

While all teams are affected, it would still look bad to anyone giving it a first look.

Best to wait until this is fixed.

Looks like they fixed the Stats machine. I haven't seen the results yet. I think Howard (DF founder) may of pissed a few people off with his comments and the way he's handeling it.

Heres the thread on Free DC.

Shit does happen, guess I'm a little miffed too about the atitude. Stats can be replaced. We (all of us) donate time, money. and effort and I think that deserves a little resepect.

Off line should be ok. It was the points sent in that were only receiving 1/20th credit.

Glad I didn't dump Saturday like I was, got 1mill plus waitin to go up. Wouldn't of been a happy camper to only receive 200K for it

That does suck I agree. Life isn't perfect though. Glitches happen. 30k is better than nothing and atleast all the results where passed on for the science of it which is the most important.

Looks like we may get our points back,

As a matter of fact, this remains a one-man (and one-woman) show.

Now I'm glad there's still a few sensible people here, and for the rest of you (Im not naming names ) please stop blowing things out of proportion. I did NOT say I don't care about the stats. If I said this, please find the quote and show me. If you continue to read things that I didnt say into my messages then you will never be happy.

I said we do not keep a history of the stats, end of story. Should we? Maybe. Could we? Of course. It doesn't matter. It is not important to US to keep this information, and there's plenty of others doing this for us now. If one of those people would kindly like to provide us with a table of UID's and points over the 'outage' period, we can recompute the exact number of missing points and reimburse them .

And if I see another post whining about this, I'll be sure to exclude that user from the reimbursement

I got a friendly email from Elena about the missing points. I will provide them with what they need & it sounds like they'll fix everything up. No worries, all.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

edit. points have now been corrected.

Correct points have been added to all those that uploaded results in the "broken stats period". A big thank you goes to Dyyryath for providing me with exactly the information I needed .
The statistics now have the right number of points for all users, those who buffered offline, as well as those who worked online.

Howard, from the look of that thread, should keep his mouth shut and allow Elena to deal with the "public" at the site.

While she made a contact and corrected the problem, he was busy pi$$ing people off try'n to tell them it didn't matter. As he made very clear, it doesn't matter to HIM. But if he loses the majority of his puter users, he won't have a project anymore. And just WTF will he have done for the research then?

Instead of try'n to put people "in their place", he should have rather offered the fact they were looking into taking care of it.

He has no tact, and poor people skills.

I completely understand his situation. After a bunch of whiners complain about ever little problem like it is the end of the freaking world I would loose tact to. I don't know how he puts up with it at all to be honest. They complain when he reply's and they complain if he doesn't.

Groth took over 3rd place! satanicoo must be slacking off again.

I bumped up my production a little by adding my laptop for a few days, but I will be shut down from Thursday morning untill Sunday evening as I will be out of town for Turkey Day weekend.

Well, I would agree that it has to get your goat at times. But look at how well Elena handled the situation compared to him.

I've only gone by that site a few time, mostly when there's a problem, so perhaps he was just hav'n a bad day.

At any rate, good to see it's taken care of.

Naaaa! No reason for loosing stats right now
Only a P4 working now, and since it is loading Diablo2 quite often (new patch out) it surely things complicated...

Was expecting to have a dual XP2500++, but unfortunatelly new ones are locked...

Did it crash, or just not upload the results. The D.F. server was down for a bit a couple hours ago.
