re: Iwaki rd___ pump

This is the samy guy I bought mine (RD30) from (direct sale). Glad to hear the water does not touch aluminum -that was my only other reservation. The spec sheet does claim 40 dba.

I also noticed someone's claim here about running the pump at a reduced voltage...sure you can do that (I intend to vary the speed of mine) but it will still take near full voltage to start the motor due to the onboard electronics. I just hope noone overlooks that.

BTW nikhsub1
Sorry, I bid against you. I didn't know someone from here was bidding on it (I have since read the "Look what I found" post from someone linking to it. I have had an auto-alert on ebay for these for months. I called my local distributor several times (even tried to strong-arm him with OEM buying power to no avail -Iwaki barely gave him any more break. Our bid war cost us both...oh well, It was still a good deal and mabye a once in a lifetime...

can you substantiate that ?
from whom did you buy it and when did you do so ?

the pump has a warranty, why do I not know of this 'failure' ?
who have you spoken to at Swiftech ?
(562) 595-8009 (back on Monday), ask for Bill Adams

Bill,
Been too busy with server migrations to deal with this.
Bought it from frozencpu, but would be glad to speak with you on Monday.
Curious if your spoken speech is the same as your forum speak.

Have spoken to Bill a number of times on the blower. He's actually a very entertaining guy, far less intimidating over the phone than I ever expected after spending approximately 2 years sparring on-line prior to our first phone conversation. Very straight talking and down to earth. I enjoy talking to him every time we do, and in a strange way reminds me of my wife's no-bullshit approach to the world, except Bill is neither quite as crude, and he is somewhat more forgiving.

Well, I was another one of the bidders. If I had read who I was bidding against, I probably would have stopped bidding.

BTW, does anyone know where to get a 24V power supply cheap? The best I've been able to find is Solar 100W DIN power supplies for $40-50.

Needs to be rated at 10A, 100W will not be, maybe 5A or so. Need 200 - 240W

On a side note, I have not responded to any PM's because I don't know anything yet, I am trying NOT to be the middle man, no time unfortunately. Will let all the PM'ers know when I know what the deal is.

Hi nikhsub1,

I am looking forward to buying two of them, but unfortunately they won't ship them outside the US... Could you act as a middle man on my behalf, please?

I will understand and accept that you are not interested, of course. Just asking for my only chance of having them...

Many thanks in advance,

Sunwong

Two of these? Have you looked at the specs? I can only assume that these are not for a PC...

I bought an Iwaki from "rockhammer" a month or so back. He seems to be a really good guy - and a good ebay seller.

got mine the other day
hooked it up to a 24v 3.6a power supply, draws 0.3a on the 24v circuit
it is quieter than I thought it would be, no problem there
no measured flow rate yet through the 2 Storm's/2-342, but it is high
Tygon R3603 on outlet bulges nicely....
will let it sit for a couple days to see temps
