I have no popups at all, and I don't have any pop-up stopper here. I tried the link on 2 PC's, two different providers, and didn't see one popup.
On the other hand, I am really impressed by the job. It is not my style, but the job was well conceived, and very skillfully done. I also was very impressed bythe finish of those waterblocks, top-class material from the look of it. Great Job Mate! |

Just to note... I didn't get a SINGLE popup at all! And dude, your mod is just pure GREAT! I love seeing people using their minds and know how to pull something off, instead of the usual poser who buys stuff then does a few tweaks and calls it their own... GOOD WORK!
DIY REPRESENTING! BTW-- Might you elaborate on the Powder coating process? What all equipement do I need?

It works by spraying a layer of "magnetic powder" onto a metal surface, the powder sticks to the metal because, well, magnetic things tend to stick to metal. It is then baked in a really hot oven, and the heat causes the powder to bond with the metal surface. The result is a nice, shiny, hard color that is very scratch resistant. I doubt this is something you can do in your kitchen, but pretty much any car paint shop will be able to do it for you, although I doubt it will be cheap.

I thought it stuck using static electricity. Another benefit of powder coating is it's fuel resistance. Good for motorcycle gas tanks because a little spill won't eat the finish off.

I dunno, i think i remember seeing it on amerian chopper. They mentioned the powder stuck because t was magnetic, although i could be wrong.
But regardless, the point is, the powder sticks to the metal, and is then bonded by the heat of the oven.

It does work by static charge, not magnetism, so you can coat aluminum, etc. The finish is quite durable - a lot better than paint. To do a really good job, you definitely need a clean environment with low humidity. Cost of having a shop do a full case should probably be around $100-200. |

thats pretty cool. How hot did he have to cook his parts for the powder to bond?

would it matter if the case is touching the ovene walls or the grating (is that the correct termonology?) in the oven? If so, how would you suspend the part in there?

Powder coating seems like a lot of trouble. I'd rather just use a self etching primer and do a few coats of paint. Takes so long for paint to fully "cure" though. Another option is epoxy paint or clear coats. The best are two-part epoxy paints, but you need a special air gun, etc to use it.
This store only stocks what they have used professionally. This seems to be the best etchin primer available in aerosol. http://autobodystore.net/Merchant2/m...egory_Code=PRI This place has a better description of the product. http://www.bodyshopwarehouse.co.uk/d...=1&prodid=3988 |
